Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

· Inspect buildings and machinery for defects.
· Repair and maintain machinery, plumbing, physical structures, electrical wiring, and fixtures in accordance with applicable codes and regulations.
· Cares for the tools, equipment, and material being used and ensuring the tools, equipment, and material are properly stored, clean, and in good repair.
· Know and follow all safety rules and proper maintenance procedures.
· Remains on call and willing to return to duty as emergency needs require.
· Perform on-sight maintenance tasks such as hanging pictures, making wood or metal items, assist in air condition repairs, move furniture, etc.
· Regulates heat/air conditioning systems to provide temperature appropriate to the season and to ensure economical usage of all utilities. Minimizes utility use during times that the students are not
in school.
· Work skills include general school and physical plant maintenance such as electrical, plumbing, welding, carpentry, roofing, etc.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

· Must be able to follow instructions and work without close supervision.
· Must be able to work well with others.
· Must be available for on call or work during evening hours.
· Complete required annual and safety training each school year by the established due date.
· Routinely review your Weakley County Schools system email.
· Display your ID badge in a visible location at all times when
· Meet the necessary health and physical qualifications.
· Complete satisfactory background checks as required by the Tennessee State Department of Education and state law.

Education, Skills, and Abilities
|
Required:
High School Diploma required
One year experience in maintenance: HVAC
Current TN Driver’s License
Necessary Specializations:
HVAC
Working conditions:

Physical fitness and a good sense of balance are required: Must be able to work on his or her feet all day, climb ladders, and work on roofs, in addition to routinely lifting objects that weigh up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work in a wide range of temperatures and conditions.
